CONTROL-F

Control-F is one of our regular clients who usually come to us with fairly standard corporate jobs, but this time they wanted something with a little more creativity…

They tasked us with creating a new recruitment film for them to share on social media and their website. With Control-F being a digital forensic company, we thought there was only one thing for it, a comedic Netflix-style documentary video, and they loved the idea!

We decided that the concept should be a hunt for a missing person (a new employee) and, whilst comedic, we should make it dark and moody – akin to a typical crime documentary.

It was important the film had a strong narrative, so we worked on the script first to ensure the video had all the classic traits of a good documentary. Doubled with our extra creativity thrown in to build interest and tension. 

Staged B-Roll footage was shot with a cold and stark style of lighting, as if in a Police HQ office, whilst maintaining a cinematic look.

Staff were interviewed with dramatic spotlighting and only a couple of actors were cast to play more comedic roles such as Isla Findem (wink wink).
