At Origins Films we love food and drink, we’re big foodies! So we challenged ourselves to create stand out visuals showing off our skills for the food and drink industry.

We wanted to film a diverse mix of different foods and beverages, creating exciting imagery using our creativity to conjure up interesting angles, picture-perfect cinematography, and dynamic shots. Ensuring the food or drink product always took centre stage.

Filming food and drink, or any product for that matter, is a real skill to ensure the product always looks its best. A lot of time and detail goes into the lighting to ensure the visual look is perfect. At Origins Films we revel in product cinematography and our extensive array of in-house equipment means we’ve always got the right kit for the shot.

Often filming foods and beverages at high speed, our lighting had to be powerful enough to allow our cameras to film at such high frame rates – which would create that smooth slow motion effect! Especially with food and drink products, it’s essential to capture the small details and filming in slow motion allows us to make that product look ever more enticing and mouth watering. 

We also filmed many food items with a probe lens, this is a specialist macro lens to get up close and see the products from a unique perspective – another essential tool for filming food and drink.

Styling is also a very important part of creating the perfect shot, we spent a lot of time set dressing and ensuring the food or drink item looked its best.
