UGANDA MARATHON

Uganda Marathon approached us to produce a series of short animated videos to promote their event. They described it as an ‘adventure like no other’ and tasked us with capturing the essence of the event to move and excite their audience.

Without the ability to fly to Uganda, we pitched the idea of a 2D animation that was rich in colour and contained illustrations of African scenery.

We first set out to create visually stimulating illustrations that we would then later animate. We worked closely with the Uganda Marathon team to ensure we were capturing the essence of the marathon and the beautiful Ugandan scenery that their audience and participants should expect to see.  

Once the illustrations had been created and the client was happy, we then moved on to the edit. Here, we used rich sound design and music to further capture the essence of the marathon. It was important that this animation felt Ugandan through and through. The voiceover and pace of the edit were also fun and upbeat to match. 

Uganda Marathon was delighted with these videos and utilised them across paid social media ads, on their website, and their event landing pages.
