THE BRIEF

Top 5 Best Mattress (by Emma) were looking to develop a reviewer-style video, delivered in multiple formats for YouTube, highlighting the qualities of an Emma mattress. It needed to be vibrant, energetic and engaging. 

The video had to capture attention in the first few seconds and maintain a lively, positive tone throughout. They wanted high quality, but a lean towards a UGC approach.

We also had to ensure the video would work across multiple countries – 18 in total! So the visual style and tone needed to be universal.

THE PRODUCTION

From scripting and storyboarding in pre-production, to set design on the shoot and editing over 50 video assets, we handled the entirety of this project in-house. 

We carried out extensive location research to ensure we had a location that felt universal, with a clean modern look – and large enough to accommodate our props and filming equipment for those perfect product shots.  

Casting was also a key stage in pre-production, conducting auditions and ensuring our talent worked for the global audience.

We had to pack a lot of filming into just one day, so we knew we had to ensure consistent lighting throughout the shoot day even with the sun changing direction. A large light was placed outside the main bedroom window to replicate the sun shining in, setting the visual look and tone whilst also keeping consistency throughout the shoot. Whilst additional smaller lighting units we used carefully inside to provide specific lighting on the product and talent.

We delivered over 50 video assets as part of this project, delivering individualised ads for 5 different mattresses, in three aspect ratios [16:9, 9:16 and 4:5] and across 9 different languages (including French, German and Italian).
